SAN JOSE DEL CABO, MEXICO: LAS VENTANAS AL PARAISO, A ROSEWOOD RESORT

When Chris and I arrived at Las Ventanas al Paraiso, we were greeted with a feast for our eyes and the most delightful whipped margarita I’ve ever tasted! The pristine stucco architecture creates a meditative background, letting the naturally vibrant landscape and thoughtful design elements shine and speak for themselves.

Las Ventanas boasts 350 days of sunshine, and with the warm welcome we received, I believe it! Wandering the impeccably landscaped grounds through this ultra-private resort, I was able to take in the beautiful balance of exquisite Mexican architectural touches. Large cacti, bromeliads, ferns, and grasses are peppered across the grounds and their exquisite beauty is only outdone by the seemingly endless Pacific / Sea of Cortez intersection. I’d be doing this resort a disservice by failing to mention the breathtaking fuchsia Bougainvillea that spills over balconies, splays across the crisp white stucco, and looks nearly artificial because it’s so beautiful!

The Spa at Las Ventanas al Paraiso in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico

We had no trouble staying busy, but would have been equally happy soaking in the tranquility at one of the eight pools – each featuring their own unique atmosphere! First on our agenda, as usual, checking out the spa + wellness centers. The Spa at Las Ventanas al Paraiso is centered around the four elements. Treatments are thoughtfully and artfully executed reflecting the masterful Baja healers of times passed. Earth, air, fire, and water working in perfect harmony to make you look and feel your very best while at this peaceful g! I opted for the Desert Stone Massage which starts with a warm foot soak and ends with zingy fresh fruit popsicle in this beautifully designed spa.

As soon as we hit the gym, I noted the two Peloton bikes and spoke with the gym coordinator who was pleased to share they anticipate getting more. Of course, the resort offers a variety of adrenaline pumping activities off-site, but for those interested in getting their heart pumping as part of the gym’s programing I recommend their: yoga (Restorative, Alignment, Ashtanga, & more,) beach boot camp, HIIT, functional training, and total body pool workout. Each month this resort hosts a calendar of events that features different programs all throughout the day, for all fitness levels.

Favorite feature: this resort hosts the most impressive post-workout protein shake bar I’ve seen! Chris and I had trouble choosing! I picked the COMBAT (Musclepharm) mix and as I write this I’m starting to crave another. This shake was formulated for people with active lifestyles and had lower sugar + carbs.

But what’s a vacation without the food? We had to sample a bit of everything!

Dinner at Las Ventanas al Paraiso in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.

outdoor tequila bar

We kicked off our magnificent evening in La Ventanas' own Tequila and Ceviche Bar with happy hour. Here they have a sampling of everything you love about the sea and you can taste the fresh flavors of San Jose Cabo dancing together in their crafted apps. Their seafood is caught and prepared fresh every day so it’s easy to eat healthy – even late at night! (Food is served here until 9pm)

We made sure to have one romantic meal for just the two of us. We dined at the ultra sexy El Restaurante. It seems as though every element as this intimate corner of the resort was designed for romance – and as a mom of three – I’ll take a romantic evening with my husband whenever I can get it! The ambiance here is unlike any other. I love that this restaurant features family recipes from all over Mexico so that you’re able to truly savor the region during your visit in San Jose Cabo

Lunch at Las Ventanas al Paraiso in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.

Chris and I ate our first lunch at Las Ventanas at the Sea Grill. The grill shared gorgeous Sea of Cortez views and had more fresh fish available than one could imagine. You have the option of a swim-up experience here, but we dined while dry. This spot uses a wood-burning grill so your grilled fish has an exquisite flavor that’s hard to achieve otherwise.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, so we weren’t able to enjoy everything this breathtaking resort has to offer but I’m sharing the link here. They have so many healthy and unique options!
