This week’s blog is going to prepare you for your next game of Trivia regarding the 9th largest city in the United States. It’s home to the Cowboys, the Stars, the Mavericks, the Wings, and the Texas Rangers. The Arts District is the largest one in the US, spanning 68 acres and 19 contiguous blocks. The Public Library permanently displays one of the original copies of the Declaration of Independence, printed on July 4, 1776. The frozen margarita machine was invented here, and that should make you very happy! These fun facts tell us that Dallas is a cosmopolitan city with a wide mix of activities, people and culture, to explore on your next luxury vacation. Today, this Luxury Travel Consultant is giving you some five-star travel tips for the “Big D”, Dallas, Texas.

The Joule

front of grand hotel

When scouting out luxury accommodations in Dallas, we have our sights set on a few in the downtown area. For a modern and hip feel, The Joule, is nicely situated in the center of Dallas’ central business district. Set in a revitalized, 20’s neo-Gothic landmark building, is adjacent to the original Neiman Marcus, and within walking distance of the acclaimed Dallas Arts District. With 160 rooms and suites, including four massive Penthouse Suites, it is the work of award-winning designer Adam D Tihany, who’s modern aesthetic is carried throughout the hotel via its distinguished collection of original artwork from famous names including, Andy Warhol, Tony Cragg, Adam Fuss and Richard Phillips. The hotel features a glass-front pool which cantilevers eight feet beyond the hotel’s structure, so you are literally “swimming off the building’s edge”. In addition, the hotel shops have a sleek, urban edge with The TASCHEN Library, designer fashion boutique Traffic LA, and a curated collection of art, books, music, apparel and home details at Tenoversix.

Hotel Crescent Court

luxury hotel lobby

Located in Dallas’ Uptown district, Hotel Crescent Court combines classic luxury and sophistication with southern hospitality and charm. The newly renovated 186 guestrooms and 40 suites are spacious and residential in style for pure comfort, less than five minutes from Downtown Dallas, and within walking distance of the arts district, perfectly placed in the heart of the city. The Crescent Court dining options include the world-renowned Japanese restaurant, Nobu, recognized for pioneering a new style of Japanese cuisine, featuring Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s signature dishes, including Black Cod Miso, Japanese A5 Wagyu, Omakase (Multi-Course Tasting Menu), and always the freshest sashimi and Japanese delicacies. The Crescent’s spa, pool and fitness center, have all been newly renovated offering state of the art facilities. If you’ve never tried a Cryotherapy Chamber, here’s your chance. It takes 3 minutes to receive the maximum benefits of the -220° temperature, that will leave you with better circulation and range of motion, perfect for sports recovery and reducing inflammation. It is very cool!

Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek

hotel court with trees

Situated on 4.63 acres, on a terraced hill in one of Dallas’s most fashionable neighborhoods, is the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. Considered the “most celebrated hotel in Texas”, the Mansion on Turtle Creek has the exclusive feel of a private residence while providing guests the extraordinary attention and service of a luxury hotel. Designed with all the comforts and conveniences of home, there are 126 guest rooms and 16 suites featuring French doors leading to your private balcony or patio. The year round, outdoor pool is a charming respite from the Dallas hustle and bustle. The environment lends itself to sitting under a magnolia tree sipping a “Texas Sunset” and nibbling on seasonal bites while you decompress and relax. Housed in the original private residence of cotton baron, Steppard King, the five-star Mansion Restaurant, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and includes small, intimate private dining areas, as well as the main dining room with its adjacent enclosed veranda and outdoor terrace. We love the chef curated Epicurean Adventures, like a trip to the Dallas Farmers Market. You will travel by luxury car to the farmer’s market, where your tour guide is one of the Mansion’s award-winning chefs. Together, you will explore the local provisions on display, many of which the Mansion uses in its exceptional cuisine. You’ll mix and mingle with area farmers and learn how to select the best produce. The adventure culminates with lunch at The Mansion Restaurant.
