The Ritz-Carlton

coors field with clock and statue in front

Denver is exactly one mile above sea level, (5,280 feet, to be exact, hence being called the Mile High City). Getting here is easy, thanks to the efficient Denver International Airport (DEN), one of the largest connecting airports in the world. The Ritz-Carlton, Denver is the perfect downtown destination for crafting urban adventures. Located in the bustling lower downtown (LoDo) neighborhood known for its trendy shopping and dining scene to include Larimer Square, a historic block with elegant Victorian buildings housing trendy boutiques, sleek restaurants and lounges, and Nearby Union Station, a beaux arts-style transport hub, that also has cool places to eat and drink, plus summer events that include concerts and a weekly farmers' market. The Ritz-Carlton, Denver is a seven-time recipient of the coveted AAA Five-Diamond award, the longest running in the city. This property boasts 202 newly refreshed guestrooms and suites, 47 suites with 32 exclusive Club Level rooms. Let WIT secure your exclusive Club Level accommodations so you can enjoy perks including, five culinary presentations offered throughout the day, local brews, fine spirits and an array of wines, a comfortable lounge setting with distinctive Denver views, and that incredible Ritz-Carlton service. Looking for some mile-high Zen as you acclimate to the altitude? WIT is here with some Yoga “on the Rocks”. Let us coordinate a sunrise yoga at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater, one of the most spectacular venues in the world. After we whisk you back to the hotel for breakfast and refresh, we can head off to Ghost Rider for your very own consultation for handcrafted Cowboy boots made exclusively for your feet. This amazing shop is where they help you tell your story with your boots. These one-of-a-kind, custom, designed boots will be sent to you when they are complete.

Hotel Teatro

hotel lobby

Still in the LoDo area is Hotel Teatro, a boutique hotel, housed in a recently renovated 20th century Renaissance Revival building. Set in the heart of Denver’s music and theatre district against a beautiful Rocky Mountain backdrop, the 110 luxury rooms and suites all have 12-foot ceilings, chic décor, and luxe amenities. Some say Denver is the craft beer Napa, so we love that the hotel offers a Craft Beer Concierge and a Charcuterie Concierge. Before you imbibe, let WIT plan a wellness outing at Denver Botanic Gardens to awaken your energy with meditation and mantra among the flora and fauna. After you have returned to the hotel, we’ll schedule a bike and brew tour of the neighborhood to sample some of Denver’s best craft brews and bites. Okay, it might not be totally fitness-centric, but it’s so thoroughly fun!

Halcyon

modern room with furniture

Looking for a cool and casual vibe that’s all about ensuring a unique Denver experience? Let us introduce, Halcyon, a hotel in Cherry Creek, which touts itself as a “non-hotel” hotel. Located in the posh Cherry Creek area, the 154 rooms and suites are chic and comfortable with impressive amenities. We love that you start your Halcyon’s adventure at the Kitchen Counter, their take on the front desk which is modeled after the most popular spot in any home: the kitchen. Amenities at the Kitchen Counter include espresso drinks in the morning and local beer and wine in the evening. Near and dear to our hearts is the Halcyon’s Wellness Passport, where you receive exclusive access to one of Cherry Creek’s premier fitness studios: barre3, CorePower Yoga, Rise Nation, SoulCycle and TruFit. Getting outside is key in Denver, so leave it to WIT to curate several Cherry Creek Area bike excursions complete with round trip transfers, professional grade bikes (your choice of road, mountain or cruiser), guides and gourmet picnics. Connect with the main trail for a family-friendly scenic ride along four miles of paved trail. This fun ride features the Four Mile House built in 1859, which is likely the oldest remaining structure in the metro area. The house is on a 12-acre park that features a museum, programming and farm animals, and tells the early history of Denver in an interactive environment. For the more serious cyclers, pick a long day on the trail to Cherry Creek State Park and Reservoir. The park has 12 miles of paved trails and 35 miles of multi-use trails for biking and hiking, and offers amazing birding opportunities. It also has boating, camping, fishing, swimming, horseback riding and more.  Let us coordinate biking with your favorite add on activity, meals and all the gear you need for a custom day in the Colorado sun. You’ll be back to the Halcyon in time for cocktails at the rooftop pool!

JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek

dining room with blue chairs and cream couch

Another marque property in the wonderful Cherry Creek area is the newly redesigned JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek. Here you will find destination worthy dining, premier shopping, and outdoor trails for exploring by foot or on bike. The 193 rooms and 6 suites are sophisticated and well-appointed to fully embody the luxury that JW Marriott properties are famous for. Already one of the top five cities in the U.S. for cycling, Denver makes it super easy to get around on two wheels. Try 36-plus-mile South Platte River Trail, which was first discovered by Native Americans and then by settlers, well before Denver even had a name. As the trail winds through the city, it becomes known as the Mary Carter Greenway Trail and the Colorado Historical Society commemorates some of this history with signage along the trail, explaining the human and natural history of the land, its geology and wildlife inhabitants.  It is close to parks and lakes and has easy access from roads and ramps throughout Denver, so you can easily plan where you’ll get on or off the path for a picnic or to take on other adventures like Union Chutes, where paddlers of all kinds take on this man made whitewater park.

So, for now we say goodbye to The Mile High City, where urban sophistication meets outdoor adventure, but we know we’ll be back soon!
