MIAMI, FL: PART I

miami skyline with cotton candy sunset sky

Move over South Beach, this week these Luxury Travel Consultants are heading to Miami’s newly minted hot spot, the Brickell District. Brickell, which is sometimes compared to New York City, is a walkable chunk of downtown Miami full of shopping, restaurants and some great local culture at Museum Park, Wynwood area and the Design District. The best part is WIT has some of the best five-star luxury lodging just a stone’s throw away from all the action. We love this area and it wasn’t long ago that Brickell, Miami’s financial district south of the Miami River and bordering Biscayne Bay, was deserted after all the young professionals fled the area after work for far trendier places. Today, there’s so much to do in this hot section of Miami, we say come and stay in this glamorous and well-located area to soak in all the sun and sea.

EAST Miami Hotel

Let’s start with EAST Miami Hotel, located smack dab in the middle of Miami’s famous street art, suburb shopping and a short stroll to the Miami River and Biscayne Bay. Trendy and luxe, EAST Miami bills itself as a “lifestyle hotel with an Asian twist” and ranks as Swire Hotels’ first venture into North America, following the openings of EAST in Hong Kong and Beijing. EAST Miami boasts a whopping 352 rooms and 1,2 and 3 bedroom-suites, all the epitome of cool. Take a dip in the fifth-floor pool, or head to Sugar, the Zen rooftop bar and garden for magnificent Miami views. We love Tea Room, a hidden door speakeasy style lounge that will transport you to Hong Kong for the evening without ever leaving the building. Conveniently connected to Brickell City Centre, downtown Miami’s upscale shopping destination, with four floors of vibrant shops like Saks Fifth Avenue, Chopard, Emporio Armani and Kendra Scott. So, whether you’re looking for a Miami worthy bikini or shopping for something fun and flirty to wear out at night, this is the place to be.

Four Seasons Hotel

Hotel lobby with lots of seating

Also, in the heart of Brickell, is Four Seasons Hotel; a prestigious multi-use complex with 221 spacious guest rooms, including 39 suites, all housed in a 70-story tower overlooking Biscayne Bay. The hotel boasts the fabulous Palm Grove Pool, a tree lined, two-acre pool terrace with private cabanas and three distinct swimming pools. Guests also have access to The Sports Club/LA offering 50,000 square feet of state-of-the-art fitness facilities, including personal trainers and a broad range of fitness classes.

Once you have your sea legs, from Biscayne Bay to the Atlantic Ocean, WIT has countless ways for you to enjoy Miami on or in the blue water. If a yacht charter, with all the amenities, is what you crave, we have some incredible vessels and staff to take care of you. If you prefer a day of fishing, from the shallow flats of Biscayne Bay to deep-sea fishing on the Atlantic’s Gulf Stream, not to mention easy access to the bountiful waters of the Florida Keys and the Bahamas, WIT will prepare a superb launch for your dream fishing excursion. For the active types, Miami’s waterways are easy to navigate throughout the year, making them the ideal venue for kayaking, canoeing, and standup paddle boarding for all skill levels. Whether you start in South Beach, Key Biscayne, Oleta River State Park, Homestead, or Coconut Grove, the local waterways are a great way to explore the areas. And with Miami’s waters connected to the third-largest barrier reef in the world, known as the Florida Strait, there are a wide variety of opportunities to snorkel and dive, both natural and artificial reef sites, just offshore. When visiting Miami, there’s no shortage of opportunities to get on the water, soak up the sun and revel in the natural beauty. Whatever your water passion is, WIT will make it happen.

The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne

For those looking to fully immerse themselves in a luxury vacation destination, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, is your go to place in Miami. Just a bridge away from downtown, The Ritz feels worlds away, thanks to its golden beach, amazing coral reefs, and an abundant marine life. This 12-acre oceanfront resort captures the beauty of its waterfront setting with floor-to-ceiling lobby windows that offer the first dramatic glimpse of palm gardens and the Atlantic Ocean. The 450 guest rooms including 37 suites, 64 Ritz-Carlton Club level rooms and suites, each overlook either the water or the resort gardens. The 20,000-square-foot Forbes Four Star spa is a destination unto itself, while five restaurants reflect the cuisines of Mexico, Saint-Tropez, Cuba, the Atlantic Coast, and a grab-and-go marketplace.
