PARK CITY + DEER VALLEY, UT

Let’s see if you can guess where we’re taking you next! Tell us where in the United States you can find year round outdoor culture, a cool artistic vibe, both luxury and comfort, all combined with a mining town heritage Main Street? If you answered, Park City, Utah, then you’re our winner!

Located about a 30-minute drive from Salt Lake City and 45 minutes from Salt Lake International Airport, getting to Park City/Deer Valley is convenient and easy. Once you arrive, take some time to stroll the Historic Main Street which is on the National Register of Historic Places, and is the epicenter of this wonderful location. It is home to dozens of restaurants, bars, and unique local shopping venues. Every Sunday, from June through September, the Park Silly Sunday Market — one of the most treasured Park City events — fills the streets of lower Historic Main Street with live music, local craftsmen and great food.  Come summer, the winter slopes at Olympic Legacy Park and nearby state parks and reservoirs, transform the landscape into a hiking, mountain biking, fishing and camping mecca.   If star gazing is more your thing, then Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival will fit the bill. Park City serves as the main stage for the international event. In its 30th year, there are also viewing options in Salt Lake City, Ogden and Redford’s own Sundance Mountain Resort, all with easy access to over 11 of Utah’s world-class ski resorts.

The Waldorf Astoria Park City

Luxury accommodations are not hard to come by in this beautiful destination. The Waldorf Astoria Park City, is centrally located at the base of Canyons Village. The 159 room/suite property offers year round slope side access. The hotel offers a variety of rooms and suites with up to four bedrooms. Perfect for couples, groups or families. The ultimate in convenience, is the hotel's Frostwood Gondola, which will transport you to Canyons Village and over 7,300 acres of recreational terrain. Spend a day in the mountains- hiking, mountain biking or bird watching. The Waldorf offers complimentary transportation to the Park City Base Area, Deer Valley Resort, and downtown Historic Main Street. While you might be experimenting with activities you’ve never tried, why not take that same mindset to the spa by trying a Bellabaci Cupping Massage. The idea behind cupping is that it mimics your body’s natural inflammatory response by summoning fresh, oxygen-rich red blood cells along with white blood cells and nutrients, to combat inflammation, and helps to support your body’s natural detoxification system.  This technique uses a combination of hands and cups on the body and face, and can help alleviate chronic pain, muscle stiffness, and stagnation.  We think you’ll be happy you did! As an exclusive partner, when WIT plans your Park City getaway, not only will we curate a custom adventure for any season, we offer additional amenities: One $60 food & beverage credit per bedroom towards breakfast daily, $100 USD spa services credit at the award winning spa with the possibility of early check-in/late check-out and upgrade on arrival, subject to availability.

We love that when this family friendly resort recently underwent a renovation, they thoughtfully added The Champions Club, an all ages game center with casual dining options, and an outdoor family pool and Champions Plaza. As a family that travels together, we at WIT appreciate the family-centric touches and know how to put together an experiential family vacation that will keep all ages engaged and happy! Guests have three distinctly different accommodations to choose from: Sky Lodge, the heart of the retreat and home to Blue Sky’s main restaurant, Yuta, Bar + Lounge, living room and infinity pool. A short walk from the lodge are the Earth Suites, designed to integrate into the landscape, and for the traveler looking for total privacy, we suggest reserving a one-bedroom Creek House. All are designed to highlight and celebrate the surrounding natural beauty. What we love about The Lodge at Blue Sky is their wellbeing and mindfulness offerings, like Indoor and outdoor yoga, guided meditation, and breathwork. The resort has a daily schedule for guests to choose from. The fitness junkie can ski with the GM (whom we are guessing is a pretty good skier) or take a guided Nordic hike. Family time includes meet and greet with the horses or s’mores by the firepit. The stunning Edge Spa invites further self-exploration through indulgent treatments that feature nourishing bloom-to-bottle ingredients. Your culinary adventure of seasonally and sustainable ingredients is led by James Beard Award-winning Executive Chef Galen Zamarra. Sundance Mountain Resort

About 45 minutes outside of Park City, you will find Sundance Mountain Resort. Created by Robert Redford, who writes “Sundance is and always will be a dream”. His vision was to create “A careful balance of art, nature, and community”. In 1969, he bought the land now known as Sundance and envisioned the careful growth committed to the balance of art, nature, community and rich cultural heritage. At the base of Mr. Timpanogos, it’s easy to see that this 6,000-acre destination resort is the dream Robert Redford envisioned it would be. The vibe at Sundance is rustic and casual. The property offers 95 cottages and 10 mountain homes. Each home is unique and eclectic – imagine rough, hand crafted wooden furniture, river rocks and colorful Native American accents. We love the privacy that the Mountain homes afford you and your family or groups of friends. When WIT books your stay at Sundance, not only do we offer exclusive amenities, like daily full breakfast for two guests per bedroom, served at the restaurant, $100 USD spa services credit, but also two free ski or lift passes, per night. We would love to deliver the perfect personalized experience for you. You might like us to stock the fridge or hire a private chef to cook for you, or maybe an in-house cooking class with wine tasting, followed by night sky stargazing with a local expert. Believe us when we say, you have not seen a night sky filled with stars until you’ve seen it at Sundance. You will find all the modern amenities at Sundance, plus top of the line dining options at nine different venues like Tree Room, which boasts the most amazing view of Mount Timpanogo. One fun fact is, The Owl Bar, a private club for members, is the restored home to a 1890’s bar that Butch Cassidy’s Hole-in-the-Wall gang used to drink in….and if that’s not the Wild, Wild West, we don’t know what is! Sundance also has Sundance Food Truck, located by one of the chair lifts serving up the most amazing burgers and fries – snow or sun, it’s a great spot to stop and refuel. With community as part of Sundance’s DNA, the resort offers year round ways to connect, whether with an art studio, fly-fishing, zip line tour ( winter or summer) , scenic lift rides, horseback riding , and mountain bike trail riding. If you don’t see what you are looking for, we will handcraft an amazing experience rich with local culture and natural beauty. As part of the Redford’s ethos and passion for sustainability, from day one, “Sundance Mountain Resort has a long-standing history of Green policies, dating back to the property’s original purchase in 1969. Today, Sundance Mountain Resort continues to update and implement new techniques and technologies, staying at the forefront of environmental stewardship”.

We also love that St. Regis is pet and family friendly, so all your little ones are welcome! For pampering, the resort’s Remède Spa offers a full line of signature spa treatments and yoga classes to discover your bliss. You don’t need to go too far to have stunning views while savoring a delicious meal. Enjoy fresh seafood or a prime cut steak at Rime or classic bistro fare at Brasserie 7452. Regardless of the season, al fresco dining is available at the Terrace Café, located on Mountain Terrace overlooking spectacular Deer Valley.

Once the snow melts, there are dozens of activities just waiting for you in Park City, like hiking, biking, horseback riding, golf and fly-fishing. These aren’t just everyday biking trails. They will force you to stop and be in complete awe of these majestic mountain ranges. It might seem intimidating, but we can assure you that all levels are welcome here. Not all who visit are thrill seekers, and Park City is happy to accommodate everyone. Historic Main Street is a foodie’s best friend. The quality of the local restaurants is top notch and there are choices galore, from fine dining, to grab and go, so you can find a bench outdoors and admire the views. One of our favorites is Twisted Fern. You’ll find real food that is fresh and wholesome in a casual atmosphere. We are completely on board with their philosophy of “minimally processed food that honors the roots of the ingredients”. A favorite fall dish is Agnlotti en Brodo, comprised of light as feather, sweet potato agnolotti, with locally forged mushrooms, shaved brussel sprouts, roasted carrots, carrot top persillade and roasted garlic-chaga broth. This dish sounds like all the best things about fall, cooked to perfection.

Now you know some of the reasons we love Park City so much, and we have only scratched the surface of this 24-karak gold former mining town. Whether snow, sun, horse drawn sleigh rides, shopping or sipping, Park City will give you all it’s got and more. As the locals like to remind us, no matter what you do, you must always give gratitude to the mountain’s bounty. We couldn’t agree more, and as always we continue to stay strong WIT you!
