- ALASKA
With eight national parks bigger than some countries and a vast array of wildlife most people dream of seeing, the great state of Alaska, is really like no other. Home to multiple mountain ranges, and one of the world’s longest coastlines, there is so much to this beautiful state that these luxury travel consultants could spend the entire year exploring it without ever visiting the same place twice. Join us on our five-star vacation to wild and wonderful Alaska. For the ultimate immersive Alaska experience, we are huge fans of Alaska’s adventure lodges, Winterlake Lodge and Tutka Bay Lodge. Winterlake Lodge Found on the western edge of the Alaska Range, Winterlake Lodge is situated on fifteen acres along Mile 198 of the Historic Iditarod Trail. After flying into Anchorage, getting to Winterlake is only accessible via a small bush floatplane from Ted Stevens International Airport or the village of Talkeetna. It consists of five individual guest cabins and a central main lodge where you will enjoy all your meals, play games or sit by the roaring fire…amazingly where you’ll find Wifi as well. The hand built knotty pine guest cabins are the perfect respite after a day filled with outdoor adventure. For the hikers, Wolverine Mountain located behind the lodge, offers quick access to varied hiking trails, and viewpoints of Mt. Denali, migrating birds and wildflowers. At Winterlake Lodge the seasonally inspired activities include the likes of river rafting and kayaking, brown bear viewing, glacier treks (a must), fat tire biking and Iditarod Race viewing. Winterlake Lodge’s all-inclusive pricing includes complimentary massage, yoga classes, daily cooking classes, cheese tastings, and personalized service. Winterlake Lodge is open in the Summer: June 1st to October 1st and in the Winter: January 20th to April 30th. In Alaska, sustainability is of the utmost importance. The founders believe that “Restorative travel is our most important initiative”. Winterlake Lodge’s staff integrates land stewardship through conservation, environmental consciousness, education, and rehabilitation. The off-grid location inspires conservation practices like water and fuel saving techniques, recycling, and gardening. Tutka Bay Lodge Tutka Bay Lodge, Winterlake’s sister property, sits along a private cove within a rugged nine mile fjord at the edge of the Kachemak Bay State Park outside of Homer, Alaska. Getting here, you can take a water taxi from Homer or rent a car and drive down the incredibly scenic Seaward Highway from Anchorage (about 5 hours). The Tutka Bay area offers classic coastlines, deep fjords, dramatic mountains, quiet beaches, old growth Sitka spruce forests, and amazing tidal fluctuations. Placed on an eleven-acre property, Tutka Bay is made up of a main lodge, six private guest accommodations, a sauna, hot tub and boat house – all connected by a boardwalk. The large deck offers seating as well as an area for helicopter landing. The warm and cozy main lodge serves as the social center where meals, games and daily tastings featuring Alaskan micro-brewed beers and wines from the U.S. and beyond take place. The all-inclusive pricing includes daily cooking classes, complimentary massage and yoga classes. Plan your adventures around the activities curated to introduce you to the Kachemak Bay marine community. In addition to tide pooling, fishing, kayaking and other marine-based activities, the lodge offers helicopter tours, back country hiking and glacier trekking. We love the Cooking School at Tutka Bay where you can create a three-course meal with acclaimed chefs on a repurposed crabbing boat, The Widgeon II. Tutka Bay Lodge is open May 1st through September 15th. Sustainability is also key at Tutka Bay, as is the preservation of culinary history and the food options. Tutka Bay Lodge “believes buying and foraging locally, helps reduce the company food print and inspires our guests to take home a similar motivation through our educational programs”. Itineraries here often include visiting artists, farmers and local native groups. Stillpoint Lodge Just a short boat or float plane trip across the towering mountain fjord of Kachemak Bay, you’ll find Stillpoint Lodge, an exclusive luxury resort lodge in the charming village of Halibut Cove touted as “Alaska's premier destination for the conscious traveler”. The 26 one- and two-bedroom cabins and suites are rustic, yet refined, with upscale luxuries and eco-friendly amenities. At the center of the lodge is the Scandinavian inspired main lodge with cathedral ceilings and an actual indoor creek where you will enjoy all your meals, happy hour and incredible views. Walk the organic gardens, take a sauna or simply enjoy the 22 hours of summer sunlight. Outside is the Kachemak Bay, a critical habitat area with robust biological activity for immersive eco-adventure. Stillpoint Lodge will curate a custom adventure vacation around a huge list of wellness, adventure and leisure options. Start your day with yoga or meditation, then choose sea kayaking, saltwater fishing, birdwatching or an art and culture tour, before returning to the lodge for a craft beer or glass of wine. Stillpoint Lodge was built with the intention of living in harmony with nature. The Lodge features a farm-to-table concept using only locally sourced ingredients including the freshest of Alaska fish, vegetables from their garden, game from the neighboring woodlands or meat from organic farms nearby. Tikchik Narrows Lodge Our last stop on the Alaska lodge tour is Tikchik Narrows Lodge, located in the Bristol Bay region of southwest Alaska set in the 1.5-million-acre Wood-Tikchik State Park. This area is only accessible by float plane and is over 300 miles from the nearest connecting roads system. Unlike most other Alaskan lodges, Tikchik Narrows Lodge is totally isolated and solely focused on sportfishing in the Bristol Bay area, often referred to as the “salmon factory of the world”. Tikchik is comprised of 7 shorefront cabins that can sleep one to four guests each and the main lodge where you will enjoy wonderful meals with dramatic views from the deck overlooking the Narrows…you can even fish right in front of the Lodge! Open from June to September, the key to deciding when to visit is to figure out what species of Pacific Salmon floats your boat. Tikchik is for the serious anglers and a typical day starts with breakfast at 6:45am and then airplanes, boats and guides departing for an immersive day of fishing. We love that happy hour is waiting in your room for you upon return around 5pm. The pilots call in your drink orders ahead of time, so they can be in your room upon arrival! In the spirit and necessity of conservation, Tikchik has a strict catch and release policy with freshwater species. Guests are able to keep a few salmon and the lodge will fillet, vacuum pack, freeze your catch and package it for you to take home at no charge. With over 25 years of experience and exclusive access to private waters, Tikchik’s fishing program is a dream come true for both spin and fly anglers at any level. We hope we’ve been able to highlight some of what makes Alaska so special. With common daily sightings of moose, dall sheep, many species of birds and perhaps a mother bear and her cubs, you will wonder how many stamps need to go on your postcard to send back home. There’s a reason why it’s referred to as ‘The Last Frontier’. Although no passport is necessary, you will feel like you’re very far away from your home in the US, and frankly, isn’t that what being on vacation is all about. From eating fresh fish everyday, to playing tennis outside at midnight in the summer, its warm sun and snow capped mountains will draw you in and change the way you see and appreciate a destination so focused on conservation and maintaining its natural beauty. WIT has very close relationships with these properties, so we can extend exclusive perks and special amenities to our clients. Typically, you will receive complimentary breakfast for two daily, $100 or more resort credit to be utilized during your stay, room upgrade, either at the time of booking or arrival, and early check-in/late checkout, both subject to availability. At Well Inspired Travels, we love being luxury travel consultants and creating the ultimate experiences for you. So, pack your digital bags and follow us as we uncover exceptional luxury and wellness focused vacations. - WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA
Sometimes when a destination calls your name you have to answer! This week, the ever so trendy, totally Instagrammable West Hollywood, California is calling these Luxury Travel Consultants by name. “The WeHo” area of Los Angeles is comprised of three main districts: Santa Monica Boulevard, awash in rainbow flags and includes a part of historic Route 66, the cutting edge Design District anchored by the Pacific Design Center on Melrose Avenue with luxe shopping galore and lastly, the fabled Sunset Strip, where old-school rock-n-roll meets modern day luxe. The Sunset Strip, a mile-and-a-half stretch of Sunset Boulevard, passes through West Hollywood which is now considered by many as the cultural heart of Los Angeles, and this very walkable neighborhood (yes walkable in L.A.) is everything. Once known for its rocker status with iconic music venues, The Whiskey A Go-Go and The Roxy, these days Sunset Strip is home to some of L.A.’s hottest boutiques, eclectic dining, and a plethora of fitness options all within steps of some great five-star luxury hotels. The London West Hollywood Our first stop is The London West Hollywood, a tranquil urban oasis that combines cosmopolitan elegance and laid-back California cool to create a hip destination for the discerning luxury traveler. The 226 suites are spacious, chic and California cool, all wrapped up with impeccable service. From this prime location, you can easily stroll to some of the city’s most sought-after restaurants, including Craig’s, Roku, Pump, and E.P./L.P. Just around the corner in WeHo’s Design District is also where you’ll find world-class boutiques like Christian Louboutin, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Rag & Bone, to name a few. If you are looking to achieve your own celeb status, let us book you your Private Suite at LAX. When it’s time to board, guests are driven across the tarmac to their aircraft in BMW 7 Series. It is truly the ultimate in exclusive, luxury VIP service! The West Hollywood EDITION The West Hollywood EDITION, located on the corner of West Sunset Boulevard and North Doheny Drive, offers 140 guest rooms and 48 suites, all with floor to ceiling windows serving up stunning skyline views. This hip hotel has an almost Zen like feel with sleek yet sophisticated minimalist design. If you are here to impress, the EDITIONS’s two penthouses are the perfect home for entertaining or simply treating yourself to lavish living. Just outside, is Sunset Plaza, for the best shopping, dining and people watching, plus it has some great self-care options for personal pampering. Check out Bluemercury, where not only can you get in-store spa treatments, you can leisurely shop for head to toe products to hydrate or find a gorgeous new lipstick for later that night. It’s all here! For inner beauty seekers try Aura Yoga, also in the Plaza, with a variety of classes, including flow-based yoga, light weight training, and hot fusion. This trendy studio is popular with the celebs so you never know who you will see! After class, you must try West Hollywood’s newest vegan hot spot, Fresh, where you might have a spiked Kombucha to cool down and chill out before heading back to the hotel. 1 Hotel West Hollywood Nestled at the base of the Hollywood Hills, with panoramic views of Downtown LA, is 1 Hotel West Hollywood. This LEED certified hotel is all about bringing the outside in whilst being ecologically responsible. Throughout the 286 rooms, you will find thoughtful touches to bring nature into your space with native greenery, reclaimed wood and earthen plaster, all part of the hotel’s mission of “eco-conscious luxury style”. We love that 1 Hotel is considered one of the most energy-efficient hotels in Los Angeles. Need a moment to meditate? Check out “the Canyon” a pathway on the grounds with reclaimed wood planters housing trees and wild, native plants where you have your own personal urban oasis. For your workout, we love that 1 Hotel West Hollywood has partnered with New York City based Performix House, to create a state-of-the-art gym on property with exclusive one-on-one training sessions curated for you. These trainers are some of the best in the biz, so whether it’s Yoga Flow or HIIT, Performix House trainers will work it all out! Andaz West Hollywood As the first hotel on the Sunset Strip, Andaz West Hollywood has quite the history with musicians. Hotel lore says in 1971 Keith Richards dropped a TV out of room 1015’s window! Nowadays, The Andaz is stylish and reimagined for the modern-day “rockstar”. Each of the 199 rooms and 20 suites are cool and stylish with all the luxe amenities. We love The Andaz’s rooftop pool as one of the highest in L.A. with killer views at sunset. During the day, head out to workout at Hot Pilates, in Sunset Plaza, where they crank the heat and make it happen! Hot Pilates has different classes to suit goals and your mood. We say try Pilates Booty “a high-energy hour dedicated to defining a beautiful backside.” Other options include Sculpt, Soul, Barre or Yoga-Pilates fusion…you will be glowing after any of their classes. Or if you want to explore a different kind of glow, try Ole Henriksen Face/Body of Denmark, also in Sunset Plaza. This highly regarded spa offers specialty massages, salt and sugar scrubs, indulgent spa and bathing rituals, light therapy, nail care, and more. From the hotel you are in the heart of West Hollywood, so you can take a stroll, grab a bite, and treat yourself to an amazing day outdoors. It is the perfect place for personal enrichment of the body and the soul. From healing massage treatments, yoga, and five-star spas, to hypnotherapy and retreats, Sedona has something for everyone. Join these Luxury Travel Consultants as we reconnect with nature and ourselves in Sedona. Mii amo At Mii amo, named the number-one destination spa in the U.S. by Travel + Leisure, you are asked to “Set an intention. Choose your Journey. Allow us to do the rest”, and do the rest they will! Mii amo, which translates to, “one's path or journey,” is rooted in the Native American culture of the Southwest. Here you will discover native traditions woven through signature spa treatments and guest experiences. Surrounded by the striking red rocks of Sedona’s Boynton Canyon, you choose a three-, four-, or seven-night all-inclusive stay. Your program is designed to serve your unique needs, intentions and desired outcomes, and you are fully supported the entire time. Your personal journey package includes private accommodations in one of 16 casitas, daily spa treatments and delicious, healthy cuisine. From fitness and nutrition counseling, to rejuvenating spa treatments and Native American-inspired therapies, Mii amo offers an opportunity to grow and learn. We love the arrival celebration at the start of your journey where you are gifted with juniper beads, a Navajo symbol to honor those that have gone before us. In addition to an incredible and thoughtful spa treatment menu, Mii amo offers many unique therapies like Vibrational Massage that uses oils blended with the frequency of the seven energy centers (chakras) to open and renew these energy points. A unique Native American inspired treatment is the Soul Seeker, where a master therapist guides and supports, as you reconnect with your inner self. This may include guided imagery, energy soul journeying, emotional release and breathwork. This is a very special place, and as a guest, you will feel the intimacy and energy with staff members who are dedicated to making your destination spa experience as memorable as it can be, offering a unique combination of professional expertise and nurturing warmth. Plus, you have access to golf at the Tom Weiskopf-designed Seven Canyons Golf Club. Near and dear to our hearts, Enchantment is fully committed to honoring and preserving this land and its Native American heritage. While they do this in many ways each day, there are two major components of that mission: One is their greening program, the other is their partnership with both the National Forest Service and with the local Native American tribes. L’Auberge de Sedona Providing a dreamlike setting in Sedona on the banks of Oak Creek, is L’Auberge de Sedona. This magical creek side location boasts spectacular red rock views while just steps away from Sedona's Main Street arts and shopping district. Here you have the best of both worlds. Spread over 11 acres, the retreat offers 88 thoughtfully appointed guestrooms and cottages all with lovely views and amenities. Sedona is considered a vortex hub centered around specific sites where the vortex energy is believed to be most intense: Airport Mesa (cleansing, letting go), Cathedral Rock (allowing, receiving), Bell Rock (loving acceptance), and Boynton Canyon (centering, grounding). The spa has crafted four rituals and the one-of-a-kind experiences that take place in the hillside Vortex Treehouse with stunning views of the magical Sedona red rocks and mystical power. The Feet in the Creek treatment is a more playful way to experience the connection with earth, nature and yourself. This creek side spa experience, offered seasonally, begins with a massage therapist escorting you to Oak Creek. As you are guided to step into the ankle-deep water, breathing in the fresh Sedona air, listening to the soothing sounds of Oak Creek, and connecting with the natural beauty around you. Your treatment concludes with the therapist rinsing your feet and performing a reflexology treatment with their signature L’Apothecary flower essence serum. - SEATTLE, WA
Seattle, located in the Pacific Northwest, is surrounded by water, mountains and evergreen forests. As Washington State’s largest city, it’s home to the iconic Pike’s Market, the futuristic Space Needle, the first Starbucks, Olympic Sculpture Park, Chihuly Gardens and so much more including terrific, five-star accommodations close to all the best attractions to explore. Known as the Emerald City, there is no shortage of things to do in this cool and quirky metropolis, so this week these Luxury Travel Consultants are embracing the city on the Puget Sound to experience quintessential Seattle, Washington. The Thompson Hotel Seattle is a creative hub where innovators and entrepreneurs thrive. The Thompson Hotel embraces this vibe in their contemporary and sophisticated hotel. This luxury boutique property was conceived by the city’s own award-winning Olson Kundig Architects. Thompson Seattle is a contemporary urban landmark with awe-inspiring views of the Puget Sound, seamlessly blended with the culture of downtown Seattle. The Thompson’s 155 rooms and suites offer one and two bedroom options all with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Pike Place Market, the Puget Sound or the Olympic Mountains. We love their long-term stay residences with one- and two-bedroom units complete with all the comforts of home including kitchens, washer/dryers, plus all the hotel amenities at your beck and call. The hotel is literally a stone throw from the unforgettable Pike Place Market. Originally founded as Pike Place Fish Market in 1930, the seafood market is now known for the tradition of fishmongers throwing fish that customers have purchased, before they are wrapped. Get there early and pick up a coffee at the world’s first Starbucks before you explore the entire market. Stalls selling arts and crafts, flowers and other sundries usually open up around mid-morning. If you’re not up for a little seafood in the morning, grab a pastry at one of the bakeries (Le Panier has great almond croissants). While at the market, don’t forget to take a selfie in front of the legendary Seattle gum wall found in an alley under the market. Let WIT curate a custom Market Experience tour to include the surrounding neighborhood complete with a guided history tour and shopping. Who knows, you may even catch a flying fish! Four Seasons Hotel Seattle Next we visit Four Seasons Hotel Seattle, located in the heart of downtown and a short stroll to the Seattle Art Museum, Pike Market and the waterfront promenade. Positioned on the first 10 floors of a 21 story hotel and residential tower, Four Seasons Hotel Seattle offers 147 spacious guest rooms, including 13 suites. The newly renovated rooms are the perfect landing pad after a day exploring nearby art and culture. Reflecting the hotel’s appreciation of local art, guest rooms display a selection of 16 works by classic Northwest artists, reproduced from the collection of their neighbor, Seattle Art Museum. We love the outdoor terrace and fire pit, plus the hotel boasts Seattle's only outdoor infinity-edge pool with exclusive views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains. From the hotel head across the street to Seattle Art Museum (SAM) whose inventory is wide-ranging, but has an exceptional collection of Native American art from the Pacific Northwest, including basketry, textiles, masks, totem poles and other delicate carvings in stone and wood. A mile from the SAM’s headquarters, on a nine-acre former industrial site at the northern end of the Seattle Seawall, is an outdoor gallery for the museum’s sculpture collection of more than 20 works at the Olympic Sculpture Park. One of the most eye-catching pieces is Alexander Calder’s monumental Eagle, which lines up beautifully with the Space Needle when viewed from the southwest. If pop culture is more your thing, check out The Museum of Pop Culture (also known as MoPOP). It’s a museum experience quite different from most others. It is very interactive and depends on its visitors to engage with the exhibits and collections. Starting from the rock ‘n’ roll movement, it looks at pivotal pop culture icons such as Jimi Hendrix (a Seattle native), the Marvel Universe and game revolutions, plus so much more. Loews Hotel 1000 Looking for a hotel with contemporary, comfortable luxury? Loews Hotel 1000 fits the bill with a whole new look paired with the genuine Loews service. Located at the intersection of 1000 First Avenue and Madison Street, it is ideally situated just steps from the waterfront along Elliott Bay, near Pike Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, CenturyLink Field, the business district, and historic Pioneer Square. The 120 rooms and suites are modern with luxe touches all focused on comfort. We love The Golf Club, Seattle's only virtual-reality Golf Club, where you can hit the links without having to leave the hotel. This virtual golf simulator features more than 50 courses from around the world, including the Old Course at St. Andrews, Pinehurst No.2 and Pebble Beach. For first timers, it’s par for the course that you visit the landmark Space Needle. Isn’t it exactly what we picture when we think of this fine city! In 2017, they did a $100 million renovation on “the Needle,” so now it is even more architecturally impressive, with visitors able to experience 360-degree views and look 520 feet downwards through glass panels. On the open-air deck are “Skyrisers”, tilting glass walls that you can lean on to float over Seattle from 24 different vantage points. Amazing! The locals say you can’t leave town without crossing the Puget Sound on a ferry; we say it’s a great way to end your day of sightseeing. Let WIT book you an evening passage on the Seattle-Bainbridge Island ferry, for a festive evening ride to Bainbridge Island and back with dessert and drinks. This night cruise is a wonderful way to take in the Seattle skyline too. Kimpton Alexis Hotel Seattle is a seamless blend of old and new. Nowhere is it more evident than at the Kimpton Alexis Hotel. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this 1901 building once served as the Alaska Gold Standard Mining offices and the treasurer’s office for the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition during the Klondike Gold Rush. Rich with Pacific Northwest history, the hotel has morphed into a charming mix of esoteric design, curated local art and casual luxury amenities. The 121 rooms and suites are a warm and inviting mix of modern and vintage. In keeping with old and new, plan a visit to the Chihuly Gardens. Here amid color and light, is a fascinating exhibition of local glass sculptor Dave Chihuly, where his best work is showcased. Like something out of a magical dream, the gardens are filled with vibrant and striking colors at every turn. A mixture of indoor and outdoor exhibits, each display is unique and memorable in its own way. As your last stop in our quintessential Seattle tour, we love The Seattle Great Wheel, a giant ferris wheel at Pier 57 (which is the tallest on the West Coast). What may at first seem touristy, is a great way to take in the scenery from a fully enclosed capsule, which is good news on rainy days or chilly nights. If you fancy an upgrade, let WIT book you a VIP pod with a glass floor, leather seats, champagne and line-jumping privileges. Set in the heart of Denver’s music and theatre district against a beautiful Rocky Mountain backdrop, the 110 luxury rooms and suites all have 12-foot ceilings, chic décor, and luxe amenities. Some say Denver is the craft beer Napa, so we love that the hotel offers a Craft Beer Concierge and a Charcuterie Concierge. Before you imbibe, let WIT plan a wellness outing at Denver Botanic Gardens to awaken your energy with meditation and mantra among the flora and fauna. After you have returned to the hotel, we’ll schedule a bike and brew tour of the neighborhood to sample some of Denver’s best craft brews and bites. Okay, it might not be totally fitness-centric, but it’s so thoroughly fun! Halcyon Looking for a cool and casual vibe that’s all about ensuring a unique Denver experience? Let us introduce, Halcyon, a hotel in Cherry Creek, which touts itself as a “non-hotel” hotel. Located in the posh Cherry Creek area, the 154 rooms and suites are chic and comfortable with impressive amenities. Here you will find destination worthy dining, premier shopping, and outdoor trails for exploring by foot or on bike. The 193 rooms and 6 suites are sophisticated and well-appointed to fully embody the luxury that JW Marriott properties are famous for. Already one of the top five cities in the U.S. for cycling, Denver makes it super easy to get around on two wheels. Try 36-plus-mile South Platte River Trail, which was first discovered by Native Americans and then by settlers, well before Denver even had a name. As the trail winds through the city, it becomes known as the Mary Carter Greenway Trail and the Colorado Historical Society commemorates some of this history with signage along the trail, explaining the human and natural history of the land, its geology and wildlife inhabitants. It is close to parks and lakes and has easy access from roads and ramps throughout Denver, so you can easily plan where you’ll get on or off the path for a picnic or to take on other adventures like Union Chutes, where paddlers of all kinds take on this man made whitewater park. A $175 million restoration of the art deco building in 2009 returned The Roosevelt to its former luxe status and in 2019, another renovation of the guest rooms, meeting spaces, and rooftop pool has launched the hotel into a class of its own. When you stay in one of the 514 rooms and suites you are literally steps away from the shop-lined sidewalks of Royal Street, a shopper’s paradise. Peruse the eclectic mix of shops while discovering hidden courtyards and historic city landmarks. As you explore, take in the cadence of the street buskers and enjoy the music that street musicians play every day and night. And because Royal Street is also where New Orleanians have lived and thrived for generations, strollers will pass by beautiful private homes, small grocery stores, banks and other landmarks to a neighborhood buzzing with life. When at The Roosevelt, you must visit The Sazerac Bar, named after what many consider to be the world’s first mixed drink. While sitting in this landmark bar you will be entranced by the famous Paul Nina’s murals flanking the walnut bar recently named the #1 Hotel Bar in the U.S. by thousands of voters in the 2019 USA Today 10 Best poll. New Orleans is a city of rich culture and fascinating traditions. WIT has curated a variety of full and half day tours for the historically curious, from a Haunted History Tour, an African Heritage Tour or a Garden District Tour. Let us take care of all the details so you can fully embrace the past with private guides, round trip transportation and one-of-a-kind dining. The Architecture. Maison de la Luz Hospitality newcomer, Maison de la Luz, bills itself as a “distinctive new guest house from Atelier Ace. A place for reverie and proper Southern swoon, for prophetic visions or quiet inspiration, Maison de la Luz finds beauty in the curious”. We could not agree more, this visually stunning yet quirky property is ornate with unconventional details, bold color choices and bespoke furnishings. The 67 room and suite property opened this spring, and was the former annex for New Orleans’s City Hall, a renovated 1908 building in the city’s Warehouse District. Here you can gaze upon the original City Hall Annex banister while relaxing in totally custom interiors from the same group that created the innovative Ace Hotels. The Ace Hotel New Orleans, which centers the social aspect the brand is known for, is located just across the street where la Luz guests have access to the pool and fitness center. At Maison de la Luz , you will have breakfast in the spacious, sunlit Breakfast Room, a beautiful space evoking outdoor tents and French parlors. The private, guest-only Living Room at Maison de la Luz is an eclectic parlor where guests can enjoy nightly wine and cheese or visit the honor bar where expertly crafted cocktails can be poured over ice or taken up to your room. We love the “secret” Salon, a private guest-only lounge between Bar Marilou next door and Maison de la Luz, where only hotel guests can find the ultimate privacy. The Food. Windsor Court A special place for the discriminating traveler, Windsor Court offers a touch of old-world charm in the heart of New Orleans. This classic property recently underwent a $15 million renovation to its 316 room and suites, all of which offer private balconies or bay windows while overlooking the Mississippi River or the city skyline. In addition, there are 60 exclusive club level accommodations that include access to a private club lounge with personal concierge and light food and beverage offerings throughout the day. Conveniently located just two blocks from the historic French Quarter, Mississippi River, and Warehouse/Arts District, this central locale allows visitors to enjoy amazing food. New Orleans serves up some of the most delicious food on the planet and WIT is able to create a bespoke food tour hitting all your favorites. Start with fluffy Beignets and coffee at the venerable Cafe du Monde, move to Barbecue Shrimp at Pascal’s Manale, a must have Turtle Soup at Commander’s Palace and the most delicious Muffalettas from Central Grocery. While you’re at it, savor the Oysters Rockefeller at Antoine’s Restaurant, Sno-balls at Hansen’s Sno-Bliz, Bananas Fosters invented at Brennan's, and of course crawfish etouffee or Gumbo! The food in New Orleans is truly unmatched. The Jazz. Loews New Orleans Hotel Located in the New Orleans Art District, Loews New Orleans Hotel is in the heart of downtown. The 21-story hotel boasts 273 spacious guest rooms and 12 suites all with a laid-back vibe yet chic décor. You’ll be walking distance to the Riverfront, the French Quarter, Magazine Street, Audubon Aquarium, the WWII Museum and so much more. Known as the birthplace of Jazz, always and forever, music is the soul of New Orleans. Walk down Frenchmen Street, the main artery of the Marigny neighborhood adjacent to the French Quarter and take in the blocks of cafes, music clubs and restaurants. And you’d be mistaken if you thought you’d have to venture into the country to find an authentic Cajun dance party called a fais do do (fey doh doh). This signature dance can be found all over town, and the best part is the locals love nothing better than to show you how it’s done. Before you know it, you’ll be gliding your way around the dance floor to songs with French lyrics, laughing and hollering with the crowd!
